The class teachers and teaching assistants play a key role in bringing out the best in our children. We encourage excellence in academic attainment, behaviour and individual performance.
Parents are seen as a vital link in every child’s education and we encourage parents and carers to come into class with their children in the morning where they can talk to the class teacher or teaching assistant. At the end of the school day the children are brought out by the class teacher and this is another opportunity to convey any significant information. All pupils have a homework diary which is another useful source of communication between parents and staff.
The Prep Department is housed in a modern purpose-built block within the beautiful grounds of Oakhill. Reception and Key Stage One classrooms are downstairs and Key Stage Two classrooms are upstairs. All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, carpeted areas and have a sink available so that children can have a drink when required. There is a dedicated Prep play area with a quiet area centred around a natural willow dome, an exciting wooden Trim Trail and a large court area. Prep pupils also have access to all the facilities of the Senior School and Oakhill Leisure including a computer suite, dedicated subject rooms for subjects such as Music and Art and the Sports Hall and Dance Studio in Oakhill Leisure.
