Ten enthusiastic, and very brave, year 5 and 6 pupils stepped up to do the Primary Maths Challenge this morning. The paper was tough as it does not depend on mathematical knowledge alone, but on the ability to think things through, be logical and find ways to solve problems.
Pupils need to read the questions carefully as they make pupils think outside the box as the subjects have not necessarily been covered in the curriculum. The 25 questions get harder as you go through the paper and I must say one question took me a page of algebra to calculate! Well done to all the pupils who gave it a go. You are our Oakhill Maths Whizzes.
