First Lady Of Running

By February 8, 2019Uncategorized

Over 700 runners completed Blackburn Road Runners Winter Warmer event, which took place on 3rd February 2019 starting and ending at Witton Park, Blackburn, Lancashire. The first lady to finish was none other than Oakhill’s Religious Studies teacher Mrs Mousley! In a fantastic time of 40.58 and coming 44th overall Mrs Mousley said, “It was a beautiful day for a race and all credit to Blackburn Road Runners for spending hours shovelling snow off the track on the Saturday to ensure the race could go ahead. A decent run for me although definitely not a personal best which remains at (37.59) I managed to pull my hamstring just on the sharp hill before the descent into Pleasington but luckily someone from the club told me I was first lady with no other in sight so I just slowed off a bit to ensure I didn’t cause an injury. Happy to finish first lady even though my time was a bit over what I would have liked. There was excellent support on the course from club members and marshalls making it a really enjoyable day!’
