Year 5 pupils are currently enjoying learning about the world around them in their geography lessons. They have studied early settlements and how people chose suitable sites. They  have considered different types of power stations and energy sources – a topic which saw them getting out and about to find local examples of wind turbines and solar panels. They have been challenged to design their own settlements for a variety of communities – ranging local farmers who were also from ski enthusiasts to university students studying a variety of subjects. When the children return from half term, they are looking forward to to investigating food miles and also beginning an exciting eco-bricks project!
