Well we may not be getting a general election just quite yet but election fever has gripped the Prep School, as all the classes are voting for their new Student Council representatives. With ballot papers in hand each class has been casting their votes and putting them into a special ballot box. All the votes will be counted by Mrs Thomas and the results will be announced at the next Prep School assembly.

The children are voting for one representative from Reception to Year Two and one boy and girl from each of the older classes.

Once elected the eleven new council members will meet with Mrs Thomas and Mr Lowry once a fortnight. The council raises issues put forward by staff and pupils, helps to organise events and raises money for nominated charities and school resources. In particular they organise events to support the THOMAS Group, based in Blackburn. This charity works with the homeless and those who need particular individual and family support to find jobs, overcome drug use and help financially and with relationships.

A busy year ahead beacons!
