Some of our Prep pupils recently visited the local church to learn more about the Christian sacrament of baptism.
During the visit, pupils had the chance to ask plenty of thoughtful questions and discover the meaning behind this important tradition. They explored how baptism is celebrated, the symbols used and why it is significant in the Christian faith.
A huge thank you to Mrs Woodhead for welcoming the children and answering their many questions, helping to make the visit both informative and memorable.
What We Found Out
- Baptism is a ceremony that welcomes someone into the church community.
- Water is used as a symbol of purity and new beginnings.
- Some churches use just a small amount of water, while others fully immerse the person being baptised.
The visit helped bring classroom learning to life and gave pupils a deeper understanding of an important aspect of Christian worship.
