Nearly 100 pupils took to the stage as Oakhill School presented a spectacular production of Matilda Jr at St Mary’s Hall in Clitheroe.
The performance brought together children from Year 1 through to Year 11, with every pupil in the Prep School involved. From energetic dance routines and powerful musical numbers to colourful costumes and memorable performances, the production was a true celebration of creativity, confidence and teamwork.
Audiences were captivated from the opening scene to the final bow as pupils brought the much-loved story to life with enthusiasm, humour and impressive stage presence. Whether performing lead roles, singing in the chorus or supporting backstage, every child played an important part in the success of the show.
One of the most special aspects of the production was the way pupils of all ages worked together. Older students supported and encouraged younger performers throughout rehearsals, creating a wonderful sense of community and teamwork that reflected the spirit of Oakhill.
Behind the scenes, 25 members of staff worked tirelessly to make the production possible. Their dedication helped ensure that every detail, from staging and choreography to costumes and lighting, came together seamlessly.
The production was led by director and Head of Music and Drama, Anna Berry, whose creativity and passion inspired pupils to deliver confident and polished performances. Weeks of rehearsal and hard work were evident in every scene.
For many pupils, Matilda Jr was more than just a school production. It was an opportunity to develop confidence, discover new talents and experience the excitement of performing on stage.
As the audience rose in applause at the end of the performance, it was clear that Matilda Jr had been a tremendous success and a memorable experience for everyone involved.
