Year 10 pupils enjoyed an action-packed trip to Barcelona, combining sightseeing, cultural exploration and opportunities to enhance their artistic understanding.
The group visited some of the city’s most iconic sites, including the Olympic Stadium, Camp Nou and the Fun Museum, experiencing the energy of Barcelona both on foot and via the metro. Pupils were particularly inspired by the guided tour of Gaudí’s Sagrada Família, led by an official educator who brought the story of the landmark to life.
Art and 3D Art GCSE students also took full advantage of the city’s rich cultural offerings. A visit to the National Museum of Catalonia allowed them to see Gothic art and sculpture up close, giving them a deeper understanding of form, technique and historical context. These experiences provided pupils with ideas and inspiration that will influence their own artwork back in the classroom.
Alongside the art-focused visits, pupils enjoyed exploring the city, taking in fascinating facts such as St George being the patron saint of Barcelona and learning more about the city’s history, architecture and everyday life.
The trip combined learning, creativity and fun, giving pupils memories and insights that will stay with them for years to come.
