Year 4 pupils worked hard throughout last term learning about the Ancient Egyptians and, to celebrate the end of their topic, they created their very own museum.
The classroom was transformed into different sections showcasing their learning, and the pupils invited other Prep classes to come and explore. Highlights included artefacts, displays and even a child wrapped up as a mummy, bringing history to life in a fun and memorable way.
Pupils loved sharing their knowledge and discoveries with their classmates, explaining what they had learned about daily life, traditions and the fascinating world of Ancient Egypt. The museum project encouraged creativity, collaboration and communication skills while making history engaging and hands-on.
Among the many things pupils discovered were how Ancient Egyptians used hieroglyphics to write messages and record history, how pharaohs ruled the civilisation and were often buried in elaborate tombs, the importance of gods and goddesses in everyday life and how mummies were carefully prepared to preserve bodies for the afterlife.
It was a wonderful way to finish the topic, giving pupils the opportunity to showcase both their hard work and their imagination.
