A Broad, Balanced and Personalised Education
Our curriculum is designed to nurture every aspect of a child’s development, academic, creative, physical and social.
We combine the rigour of national curriculum frameworks with Oakhill’s individualised approach, ensuring that each child is both supported and challenged to reach their potential.
Early Years (Nursery and Reception)
Learning through play underpins all that we do in the Early Years. Children explore literacy, numeracy and the world around them through creative, hands-on activities that spark curiosity and joy.
Specialist lessons in languages, PE and Forest School enrich their experience. Pupils continue to have Forest School as part of their educational experience.
Prep (Years 1–6)
The curriculum blends core and creative subjects, giving pupils a strong foundation in Literacy, Numeracy, Biology, Chemistry and Physics while encouraging imagination and independence.
Pupils also study Art, History, Geography, Computing, Religious Education, Design Technology, Music, PE and Modern Languages.
French, Spanish, Music, Drama and Computing are taught by subject specialists, with lessons designed to build confidence and develop problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills.
Senior School (Years 7–11)
The Senior curriculum encourages intellectual curiosity and ambition. Students study a full programme of academic and creative subjects, with specialist teaching in every area.
At GCSE level, pupils follow a core of English Language, English Literature Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Religious Education, choosing up to three additional subjects that reflect their interests and career aspirations. These subjects include Spanish, French, Computer Science, Business Studies, History, Geography, Art, 3D Art and Music. Every pupil also takes part in PSHE, PE and Careers Education, ensuring a rounded understanding of wellbeing, health and future pathways.
